We present this method as an alternative. This method was given by the chip resetter's manufacturer. The basic difference is that this method does not require you to pry back the outer cover. This method is somewhat quicker and simpler, but results in a less-professional finished product, as a hole will be drilled in the outside of the cartridge.

1. Tape the vent hole on the bottom of the cartridge.

2. Drill through "Push" on the top of the cartridge. (It is advised that you cut away a piece of the label to prevent ink from getting trapped underneath it.)

3. Place the cartridge on the vice with the drilled hole on the top.

4. Refill using negative pressure (i.e. pull plunger up and release)

5. Use hot glue to seal the hole on the top of the cartridge.

6. Tamp the glue to make a clean seal.

7. Reset the chip using an Epson Desktop chip resetter. The chip has nine contacts, but only seven need to be reset.
